Trekking in Nepal :: Trekking Grade.
(Trekking Grade)
| Gradation of Trekking in Nepal. |
To really enjoy your trekking holiday it is
important to prepare yourself physically and to choose a
trek that suits you. For this reason we have graded our
treks to provide an indication of what is required.
Please remember though, that only minimal exercise is
required to prepare yourself for most of our trips, and
you only carry a light daypack while you are in
trekking.
Gentle:
This grade indicates that you will be walking for only
five to six hours a day and its depend up to your
walking speed. In most cases the trips will not go much
higher than 3000 meters and they usually consist of
around seven to 15 days of camping. Most people will
require only minimal preparation for these treks.
Moderate:
On moderate treks you will be walking for up to
seven to eight hours maximum a day. Paths are always
well defined, but we will be spending time at altitudes
above 3000 meters and could go as high as 5000 meters at
certain stages of the route. If you are not particularly
active, regular pre–trip exercise is recommended for any
of these treks.
Challenging:
A good level of fitness is highly recommended for this
journey. On occasions, you will be required to trek at
walk for up to seven to eight hours in one day as
Moderate. These trips are usually of three-week duration
and could be longer.
Mountaineering:
Our climbing trips are generally no more strenuous than
a Challenging trek overall, but do involve the use of
specialized mountaineering equipment’s such as an Ice-
axe, crampons and could include extended periods of time
spent at altitudes of over 5000 meters. No previous
mountaineering experience is required as full training
is provided. Please check out our equipment’s list for
the Peak climbing or expedition to mountains.
