Climate for Trekking
(Trekking weather chart)

The Nepal trekking season starts in mid September and extends through to late May.

  • September to November is Autumn in Nepal and the most popular trekking season. The weather is simply fantastic, and this is the ideal time for climbing trips and higher altitude treks.

  • December to February is the best months for easier lower altitude treks. Winter nights are cold, but the days are warm, the skies are clear, and there are always fewer people on the trails.

  • March to May is Spring, and another ideal time for higher altitude and climbing treks. This is also the most colorful of the seasons, with the hillsides ablaze with blossoming flora.

Note: June to August is summer months, and its continues up to mid September making your travel wet and warm. This time are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation. It is recommended to carry insect repellent when you are in trekking during summer months.
