Nepal Discover
(13 Days,)
| The temples and palaces of
Kathmandu and Gorkha, the lakes and mountain views
of Pokhara and game- viewing in Chitwan National
Park |
This
is an ideal introduction to the delights of Nepal, with
a variety of activities through which to see and
experience the many aspects of this magnificent country.
For history and culture we explore Kathmandu: the narrow
streets, temples, stupas and pagodas of the city and the
surrounding valley have an almost mediaeval atmosphere.
For magnificent mountain views we visit Nagarkot before
heading westward to the old capital of Gorkha and on to
Pokhara, set in a subtropical valley, where we can walk
in the hills beneath the mighty Annapurnas. For wildlife
we visit Chitwan National Park, home to the Indian rhino
and Bengal tiger, where from a comfortable jungle lodge
we explore the park by canoe, on elephant back and on
foot. The energetic can even fit in an optional day's
rafting on the Trishuli River. This trip is a chance to
see some of the most majestic mountains on earth, to
experience the sheer charm of Nepal's culture, and to
meet a hospitable and cheerful people living beneath the
snow-capped Himalayas.
