Mustang Trekking
(20 Days, Camping/Hotels)
| A fascinating exploration of the
starkly beautiful Himalayan Kingdom of Upper Mustang |
The
mysterious and remote Kingdom of Mustang is bordered by
Tibet on three sides and because of strict permit system
is only visited by a few trekkers in each year. It
therefore, remains largely unchanged compared with the
more visited areas to the south, and to avoid these and
the long approach walk we take the spectacular flight to
Jomsom along the impressive gorge of the Kali Gandaki.
Leaving behind the great peaks of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri
and Annapurna and entering Mustang, the grandeur of the
scenery – similar to that of the Tibetan plateau –
becomes apparent. Passing through fascinating and remote
villages, whose culture and hospitable lifestyle is
practically undisturbed by 20th or 21st century
incursions, our destination is the fabled walled city of
Lo-Manthang. With plenty of time to explore and learn
about the area’s unique culture, this trek is one of the
most unusual and attractive itineraries currently
available with us, just contact us for this trip..
