Gorkha, Manaslu and the Annapurna
(15 /23 Days, Camping/Hotels)

A remote camping trek through the little-visited foothills of Manaslu to a spectacular high alpine lake.

Mt. ManasluMany of Annapurna’s Main trails are heavily trekked, and to find quieter but equally scenic regions often require more time than most people can spare. Here, however, is a trek, which is both remote and quite short, venturing into the country to the east of the Marshyangdi River in the shadow of Manaslu and Eastern Annapurna Himals. The hills are thickly forested and sparsely inhabited by both the local people and Western trekkers, and as we walk across the grain of the land we are rewarded with excellent views of Manaslu, Lamjung and the Annapurnas, often from the angles the few trekkers have seen. The highpoint undoubtedly is Bara Pokhari, a small lake on a spectacular ridge below the Manaslu Himal.
