Ganja-La Pass Trekking
(20 Days, Camping/Hotels)
| Langtang and Helambu trekking for
the adventurous: High passes & trekking peaks on the
Tibetan border |
Bordering
with Tibet in the north of Kathmandu lies Langtang
Valley. Surrounded by high peaks, it provides
magnificent mountains scenery with few of the crowds
that are encountered on same trails in the Annapurna and
Everest regions. The walk-in is picturesque with
untouched forests and abundant flora and fauna. Then, as
we approach the top end of the valley the scenery opens
out to provide breathtaking views of the peaks including
Langtang Lirung and Langshisa Ri. Camping beyond the
last village, there is time to ascend many of the
spectacular viewpoints including Yala Peak and Tsherko
Ri to get even closer to the big peaks. We exit the
valley over the spectacular and little used Ganja-La
before descending into Helambu and then the outskirts of
Kathmandu. An energetic and rewarding three week
itinerary for those wanting something a little
different.
